We are excited to announce “The Big Solar Switch On”, which took place at our manufacturing facility in Runcorn, Cheshire, on 21 February 2025. Following a £1 million investment in solar technology, the first phase of our new solar array, comprising more than 900 panels, is now operational. The system generates approximately 724 MWh of renewable energy annually, meeting around 30% of the facility’s energy requirements and significantly reducing reliance on the national grid. This is equivalent to powering around 268 homes each year.
Our Runcorn facility has been part of the local community since relocating across the River Mersey from Speke in 1976. This latest investment reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impact and operating more sustainably. With a team of more than 350 employees from across Cheshire, we continue to invest in initiatives that support our ambition of becoming the world’s most sustainable contract manufacturer, including our commitment to using 100% renewable energy in the production of our goods and services.
Matthew Dyal, Managing Director, commented:
“The Big Solar Switch On marks a major step in our sustainability journey. Investing in renewable energy strengthens our commitment to the environment, our local community, and our customers. This is another important milestone in our mission to set the standard for sustainable manufacturing.”
Already ranked within the top 15% of EcoVadis rated businesses for sustainability, we continue to drive positive change across the nutraceutical industry.
